![]() At Oncue we recognize that these challenges exist within the community. What I have always aimed to do within the entrepreneurship community is to know the rules of the game and play accordingly. How do you feel about the challenges pertaining to diversity in the entrepreneurship community? Learning about the diversity of our customers has led us to build an employee base that mirrors this. 40% of our customer base are immigrant or minority-owned businesses, with another portion being veteran-owned. I'm passionate about serving these small to mid-sized businesses. This shaped the idea of bringing technology to groups with great businesses that may not have access to it. Yet, these companies haven't had much technology built for them. I had the opportunity to work with companies all across the US that were building amazing businesses powering some of the basic items we take for granted. Going from growing up in a very small town in upstate New York, to living in a large city, provided very different experiences for me. How has diversity shaped the progression of your career and impacted you as an entrepreneur? This is how we try to encourage diversity within our workforce where everyone can be open to new ways of thinking that they may not have considered previously. We try to live by the "Beginner's Mindset", meaning that everyone comes to the table with no preconceived notions and remains open to a different way of thinking. How does this apply to the values at Oncue?Īt Oncue, it's about encouraging people to bring their authentic selves to work and being open to feedback. That is also how I think of diversity within a company: people with different life experiences and outlooks can come together to create a more well-rounded view of the different ways in which a problem can be considered. People coming from different backgrounds and experiences may have a different outlook and perspective than my own. Dissatisfied OnCue user. The Bowery Capital Team recently launched a new blog series titled "Diversity in Entrepreneurship". Bottom line, buy a Kohler generator for the quality of the generator and not for an app that doesn’t do much. We used to have that ability, so please revert to that OnCue version. So to do that, we NEED the OnCue feature to do that. In particular, since we’ve already had a very expensive repair due to a surge through the home, we’ve been told by Kohler that the only protection we have is to start the generator so that it disconnects from the grid during a storm. If we are not onsite then we need to turn on or off the generator. Please reinstall the feature to control the generator remotely. What if the generator has been running for hours and you notice a problem such as high temps? You can’t turn it off remotely to save the generator. However now the app just shows generator status’ which are not useful if you are away from the home and need to actually remotely control it. It allowed one to update the exercise timings, and actually control the generator turn it on and off remotely if one needed to.
